Are you still using pallet and/or a forklift to store your stands?

Why use a pallet and or a forklift to store your stands, when you can have them right next to the workforce in the work-area?

Our goal was to design a stand that reduced the risk of personal injury while manually handling Equipment Stands into and out of position. Which we have achieved by the way, our heaviest stand, rated to safely hold 30,000kgs 750mm high, weighs only 14kgs and our lightest stand, rated to hold 12,000kgs weighs just over 9kgs! You won’t find a lighter stronger stand anywhere!

What we didn’t realise at the time was potential benefits relating to storage of lighter weight stands. During our trials, we discovered that stands in workplaces were usually stored on a pallet, or on the floor (sometimes a few meters deep), in the corner or outside. Most of the options appeared to be cluttered, a little unorganised and didn’t provide for quick and easy access for the user, costing the workplace both time and money whenever the items were accessed or stored.

So, we decided to create a storage solution that utilises the light weight nature of our Composite Stands. We wanted the solution to be functional and address some of the productivity issues that were identified previously, so the items could be removed from the floor, preventing them from being 2-3 pallets deep (wasting labour time to access for use). Often times floor space can be limited in busy work areas, we sought to utilise a space that is more often underutilised, the wall. This way the stands can be easily stored in a location where they are to be used, reducing the time spent accessing them for use, while negating the requirement of a forklift (usually the higher capacity stands 20,000 – 30,000kgs can weigh 40-60kgs) to move a pallet with 2 or 4 stands on it into the work area.

Composite Stands produce a robust yet extremely light weight jacking stand to safely support vehicles, machinery, vessels and equipment typically used for maintenance and/or storage purposes. Our goal is to design stands that address long-term human safety and ergonomic risks associated with stands, and in particular, higher capacity devices.
